Poetry in Motion - Ditto

Ditto

It's okay to borrow from the best...

even though you think you're through

Have to be original!

I thought, I said, I knew...

A battle known to many men

a copy-cat perceived.

"One of a kind" -- the only way

The goal is to achieve.

Carbon copy...

that's a no!

...but borrow universally --

you'll make a stamp!

You must believe.

The following poem is about how the  mixed emotions we feel when children fly from the nest....

Nothing gold can stay.

Ditto Robert Frost!  Thank you!

Precious Pearl

(In the style of Robert Frost’s “Nothing Gold Can Stay”)

Baby’s breath, a cultured pearl,

Uncalloused yet, a little girl.

Her tiny fingers grip like gold;

But soon begin to lose their hold.

Then pattycake turns to "pattycake"

So mother’s heart begins to ache.

So twirling off in cars awhirl,

Will always be my precious pearl.
